Days 22 & 23: Drugs, Lies, and ‘King Nights’—The Diddy Trial Takes a Darker Turn

By Trinity Barnette

Just when it seemed the Sean “Diddy” Combs trial couldn’t get any darker, Days 22 and 23 dragged us even deeper into the underbelly of his alleged empire. From testimony about “king night” rituals involving sex, drugs, and secrecy to explosive evidence of body armor-piercing ammunition, this week painted a grim picture of what life looked like behind Combs’ glamorized public image.

Over the course of two days, jurors heard from a former assistant who detailed his disturbing duties—from booking hotels and packing lingerie to cleaning up the aftermath of private encounters with women. We learned about drugs bought with cash from Gucci pouches, sexually explicit videos found on company iPads, and Homeland Security agents unearthing 900 bottles of personal lubricant and military-grade ammo from Combs’ Los Angeles home. And as the prosecution inches closer to resting its case, the question looms larger than ever: how much power, money, and silence does it take to keep something like this going for decades?

Here’s everything that went down in court on June 12 and 13, 2025.

DAY 22 – June 12, 2025

The Last of Jane’s Testimony, a Trail of Texts, and a Pattern of Control

After three emotionally devastating days on the stand, “Jane”—one of Combs’ key accusers—concluded her testimony. But not without a final bombshell: a series of text messages shown to the jury that appeared to corroborate her version of events.

The messages, exchanged with former Combs assistant Jonathan Perez, referenced “king nights,” lingerie, and routine tasks Perez completed to prepare Jane for her encounters with Combs. Perez, in turn, confirmed that these interactions were part of his job—and that yes, they discussed what Jane needed for the night, including outfits and candles. Defense attorneys tried to imply Jane was a “willing participant.” But prosecutors emphasized how Combs used financial control and elaborate setups to maintain dominance.

Prosecutors also revealed messages from Combs himself, including one where he asked his chief of staff to make sure Jane’s rent was paid—only five days after Cassie Ventura filed her federal lawsuit accusing him of rape and years of abuse. That timing was no coincidence.

And then there was the iPad. Perez testified that staff once found a sexually explicit video of Jane and another man on a work-issued iPad—footage Jane appeared unaware of. When he brought it to Combs’ attention, Combs “seemed surprised,” but not concerned. Months later, Perez was asked about the incident again—this time on a recorded phone call that prosecutors recovered from Kristina Khorram’s seized device.

By the end of the day, the jury wasn’t just hearing about abuse—they were seeing the receipts.

DAY 23 – June 13, 2025

King Nights, Gucci Pouches, and a Glimpse Into Diddy’s Dark Machinery

If Day 22 was damning, Day 23 turned the volume all the way up.

Jonathan Perez—Combs’ former personal assistant—was back on the stand, and this time, he painted an even darker picture of the world inside Combs’ inner circle. Under immunity, Perez testified that his job often included setting up “king nights”—a codeword now familiar to jurors—for which he’d buy red lights, liquor, condoms, lingerie, heels, and even honey “to enhance libido.” Perez said he made runs to sex stores and packed enough supplies for Combs to spend up to 24 hours uninterrupted with a woman in a hotel. It was never a job requirement—but it was always expected.

Cleanup after these nights? Sheets. Towels. Disarray. A mess. He said Combs would often need a meal, a massage, or even an IV drip afterward.

Perez also admitted he bought drugs—Xanax, cocaine, and molly—for Combs “a handful of times,” using Combs’ money pulled from either a top drawer, a Gucci pouch, or directly from security staff. At one point, the jury was shown a message where Perez wrote, “$700 went to Guido.” When asked if he knew the exact source of reimbursement, Perez said he didn’t—he just submitted the receipts.

That infamous Gucci pouch? Prosecutors showed jurors a photo of it, filled with both drugs and money. The pouch belonged to Combs, according to Perez, and it wasn’t hidden away. It was just… there.

As if that wasn’t enough, Homeland Security Agent Andre LaMon took the stand and walked jurors through what was found in Combs’ Los Angeles home during the March 2024 raid:

  • Six guns, including rifles and a shotgun

  • A drum magazine with green-tip ammo designed to pierce body armor

  • Over 900 bottles of personal lubricant

  • Roughly 200 bottles of baby oil

  • A safe with multiple cell phones, a passport, and a powder that tested positive for MDMA and ketamine

  • A closet containing lingerie and a bag of lubricant right next to it

Photos of everything were shown to the jury.

Perez also spoke about the night of a major 2024 altercation between Jane and Combs, saying he was called to drop off items and later received a FaceTime call from Combs—angry and looking for confirmation about another woman. He told the court that shortly after that call, he texted Combs’ security guard: “Heads up him & guest are fighting.”

Prosecutors closed out the day by showing the jury more of the machine: texts, staff orders, cover-ups, quiet bribes. And amidst all this, Kanye West made a brief and very public appearance—nodding “yes” when asked if he was there to support Combs. The court cleared out an overflow room just for him. He stayed about 40 minutes.

The illusion of chaos is falling apart. Day 23 made it clear—this wasn’t just celebrity excess. It was a system.

And it’s not over yet.

Prosecutor Maurene Comey confirmed that the government still has five more witnesses left to call: three summary witnesses, one more law enforcement agent, and another former assistant to Combs. In other words, the prosecution is far from finished—and the worst may not even be behind us.
