Day 15: Hotel Security Testifies About Cassie Beating Video, Former Exec Subpoenaed, and a Courtroom Disruption Shakes the Room

By Trinity Barnette

Court resumed on Day 15 of the Sean “Diddy” Combs federal trial, and the tension in that courtroom could be cut with a knife. Today’s proceedings opened with hotel security staff taking the stand—shedding light on the now-infamous surveillance footage of Diddy allegedly assaulting Cassie Ventura.

One witness, Eddy Garcia, a former security guard at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles, testified that Combs paid him and his supervisor $100,000 in 2016 to obtain surveillance footage showing Combs physically assaulting then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Garcia stated that Combs referred to him as “his angel” and claimed that God had brought them together. However, when Garcia later sought assistance from Combs in finding employment, his messages went unanswered.

Prosecutors also dropped a bombshell: a former Bad Boy executive has now been subpoenaed and may be called to testify as early as later this week. The name of this executive hasn’t been made public yet, but it’s sending waves through both the music industry and the courtroom gallery. Rumors are swirling, and speculation is mounting over who this person could be and what they know.

And then… the disruption. Out of nowhere, a man in the gallery stood up and shouted something unintelligible before being quickly escorted out by U.S. Marshals. The judge paused the trial briefly as everyone tried to reset. It was a surreal moment, underscoring just how volatile this case has become.

Tensions are running high—and it’s only the beginning of the week.

This blog will be updated throughout the day as more developments from Day 15 unfold. Stay tuned.
